Description

Circa late 1990s wedding dress tailored from ivory shot silk and made in England by the British label Margaret Lee. The romantic silhouette has a fun 1980s vibe but we are pretty sure this was made much later. The dress, which is very well made, features a nipped-in waist, basque waist and full, circular skirt which falls to around the bottom of the calf or ankles on most wearers. The top is tailored to a pretty off-shoulder style with a wide off-shoulder collar with scallop hem and piped edges. It also has two thin spaghetti straps crafted from coordinating shot silk. The front of the neckline is christened with a soft fabric rose in ivory satin. The back of the off-shoulder collar is finished with a row of fabric-covered buttons. The back of the dress has a basque waist which is adorned with a large shot silk bow. The skirt is lined with a layer of tulle and a final layer of satin - these layers mean it holds its voluminous shape on the wearer. The dress fastens at the rear with a hidden tonal zip.

In excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. It has no size or composition label, so please check our measurements below as the fabric has no stretch. We think it will work on sizes UK 6 or US 2 with a small waist. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 34" (87cm), Waist 24" (61cm), Hips: 34" (86cm) and 5' 4" (164cm) and she's a size UK 4-6, US 0-2.
