2005 Matthew Williamson Nude Mesh Celestial Embellished Maxi Dress
Description
This whimsical Matthew Williamson maxi dress is crafted from nude silk and is decadently embellished in a celestial theme. A very similar design in a shift dress style walked the Spring 2005 runway (Look 33/38). Tailored from a layer of fine mesh with a tonal matte satin lining and hand embroidered with silver-toned embellishment. These cosmic details are scattered across the body of the dress, with huge stars made from rows of silver chain and bugle beads sitting alongside tiny metallic stars and fireworks adorned with shimmering silver metal discs. The dress is cut to an empire fit, falling in a straight column style to the floor. The bust is heavily embroidered and embellished with large silver beaded stars around the torso. The bust is lined with nude mesh and boned. The tonal spaghetti straps add a playful, bohemian feel; they are adorned with chunky, carved silver-toned beads and a large aqua stone and meet at the centre of the bust. The dress fastens at the rear with a tonal zip.
