1960s French Couture Emerald Green Chiffon Strapless Dress

This sensational early 1960s emerald green chiffon dress is of superb quality and has absolutely beautiful construction. Made in France and probably from a smaller Parisian couturier, the sheer chiffon overlay is delicately ruched over the sweetheart bodice as far as the waist. There is an asymmetric drop-waist which gives way to a full, layered skirt. The dress is lined with corseted boning in the bodice and contoured seams behind the bust to elevate the natural line of the figure below the strapless sweetheart neckline. The dress is fully lined with thick forest green satin for a comfortable, luxurious wear. There is a concealed zip fastening to the left side and a hook-and-eye clasp.

In beautiful vintage condition with no fault to mention; this striking piece is unlabelled and has no stretch to the fabric. We believe it would best suit up to a US size 4-6, UK size 8-10, with plenty of give in the hip. Our model is 5ft 11in and a UK 8-10 US 4-6, this dress was a good, slightly snug fit on her.
