Description

These superb late 1950s to early 1960s Rayne stiletto heeled shoes are embossed internally with the royal warrant alongside the brand name in gold lettering. Crafted from textured Saffiano leather, they are trimmed with black grosgrain and finished with a black grosgrain bow at the front. The narrow heel measures 3.5” in height. These shoes are in excellent vintage condition with only some marks to the bottom of the sole from very light wear. These shoes measure to be a UK size 7.5 and a standard to wide fit. They would fit a 6.5 wide.

Rayne Shoes were established in 1885 in London as a Theatrical Costumier, Stage Shoe Shop and Factory. In 1900 they became known for luxurious women's footwear, attracting famous actresses such as Lili Langtree and Evie Greene to their doors. The brand received Royal Warrants from Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and Queen Elizabeth II, marking its significance to the royal family. Celebrities like Marlene Dietrich, Brigitte Bardot, and Elizabeth Taylor also favored Rayne's designs, enhancing its reputation in high society and cinema.
