Description

Launched in the 1950s, designer Al Diamond named his fashion label Lilli Diamond in honour of his wife and muse. His sexy, high-octane cocktail dresses became hugely popular with wealthy women across America. His wife Lilli was a dancer and, as such, he knew how a garment should move when worn. This attention-grabbing jumpsuit highlights Al’s tailoring knowhow. Constructed from a man-made, soft stretch poly fabric in creamy pistachio green, it is cut with a flowing, wide-leg fit that skims the body as it falls. Above the bust, Lilli’s dancer influences continue - a sheer skin-toned panel is adorned with silver embroidery and sheer beads which appear to sit directly on the skin. This area above the bust is also detailed with eight large oval iridescent studs and a smattering of small silver studs. A hook-and-eye clasp at the back of the neck creates an open-back detail in the sheer mesh, and a hidden tonal zip secures the back. This incredible piece is in very good vintage condition with no flaws of any note. The measurements have good stretch to them and the garment would suit sizes up to a UK 10-12 or US 6-8.
