Description

This Jean Paul Gaultier jacket dates is from the ‘La Concierge Est Dans L'Escalier/The Modern Retros’ collection, Spring-Summer 1988 and we have included a recent editorial shot of the fabulous Dame Helen Mirren modeleling the full ensemble. It is tailored from dark grey and cream striped cotton to the label's trademark nipped-in waist and wide-lapel silhouette. It has a double-breasted front, playing to the brand's love of nautical detailing. It is the lace appliqué that really sets this piece apart. Three flying eagles adorn the front and rear, carrying medallions emblazoned with 'JPG'. Three black polished buttons secure the cuffs. The label reads 'Jean Paul Gaultier Femme' and is lined with dark-grey and champagne striped cloth.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. Labelled a French 42, it will fit sizes UK 12-14 or US 8-10 best. It could be worn oversized by smaller sizes. No fabric composition label but feels like a silk and cotton blend; very high qaulity fabrics have been used for the outer and lining.
