Description

Colin Glascoe came to prominence as a British designer during the late 1960s through to the 1970s and designed resort and evening wear in interesting prints, including Liberty designs. This knee-length, tennis style dress dates to the early 1970s and is cut from smooth, thick Trevira cloth in a rich, warm buttercream hue. It has a button-up front - adorned with fabric-covered buttons - and a collarless neckline which is finished with a decadent pussy-bow. The skirt is box-pleated and swirls around the knees. The sleeve are long and have a voluminous bell-sleeve cut which gathers at the button cuffs. The detachable belt is crafted from the same cream cloth and finished with an elaborate buckle in gold-toned metal, debossed with flowers, vines and swirling forms. This dress is unlined.

Presented in excellent vintage condition, this dress has no flaws of any note. The composition label reads “Trevira yarn”. The size label states a vintage size UK 16 but please check our measurements below as in today’s sizing, this dress would better fit a size UK 12 or US 8. The fabric has no stretch.
