Description
Original 1950s lace wedding dress, very much in the sweeping style of Grace Kelly's when she married Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. This look is often called the Princess fit. The bodice of the dress is very fitted with a side zip opening whilst the key hole v-neck collar can be left open or closed as there is a hook and eye fastening. The slim cut tapered sleeves have a pointed cuff which elongates the arms. The skirt portion has three darts both front and back which give the skirt a gentle flare as it reaches the floor. The lace overlay is delicately over stitched in a repeat floral pattern and I would say the colour is off-white.

The original acetate dress lining is present and this underdress has a sweetheart neckline which echos the graceful lines of the lace overdress. This fastens to the rear with its original metal zip.

Both dresses in the ensemble are in fantastic vintage conditon with no issues of any note and dry cleaned, ready to wear. Unlabelled but of high end manufactured quality. Our model is 5'4" and a UK size 6-8 or US 2-4; this fits her well. Of note, she prefered the dress with the keyhole neckline reversed and a high neckline line to the front.

You may wish to try this dress on in person at our studio in London where we have a larger selection. Please contact us for appointments.
