1930s Peach Embroidered Silk Slip Dress with Cap Sleeves

An original 1930s full length slip dress in incredible antique condition and made from pure silk in a really beautiful soft peach colour. At the chest there is intricate and elaborate tonal embroidery that is detailed with panels of tonal mesh. The V-neckline is trimmed with pretty zig-zag embroidery at the front and back. The sleeves are capped, layered and ruffled so that they flutter prettily at the top of the arm. The floor skimming skirt is cut to flare out at the bottom, kicking out as the wearer moves. The dress is unlined and ever so slightly sheer.

Circa has many of these slips in their collection and this is one of the best of its type with no faults worthy of mention. There are no labels present but the slip is really well made and good examples of vintage lingerie from this era are getting very hard to find in this condition. We believe it will fit sizes up to a UK 10 - small 12 or US 6, small 8 and of course, sizes smaller. There is plenty of room in the hip.
