1950s Box Pleat Novelty Print Night Scene Skirt

This unusual cotton skirt was manufactured in the 1950s by 'Lady Anne' and is tailored to a full-skirted, pleated style typical of this era. The skirt has the illusion of being hand-painted with a playful novelty print of a night time scene; we see lovers sitting on park benches lit up by the light of street lamps and a night sky sprinkled with stars. In shades of grey with clashing splashes of orange and yellow, there is a moody, artistic feel to the print. This skirt fastens at the rear of the waist with a zip and single button. This skirt is in very good vintage condition and must have been a cherished piece - only very gentle signs of wear noted with no issues. A good fit for a UK size 6 or US 2. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 31" (80cm), Waist: 25" (64cm), Hips: 34" (87cm) and Height: 5' 4" (164cm) and she's a size UK 6, US 2. This skirt fit her perfectly.
