Description

This late 1950s to early 1960s floral dress has a matching open-collar jacket - a timeless pairing that instantly transports the wearer to this era. The ensemble is crafted from a very fine quality coated silk in a pale grey hue with a slight sheen, printed with stunningly vibrant violet roses and teal vines and leaves. The jacket is cut to a loose, relaxed fit with a straight silhouette. It has a raised collar which can be worn open to reveal the violet silk lining. The jacket is lined in violet silk throughout. The sleeves are straight-cut and finished with a slit at the cuff. The dress is a classic fitted shape with wide straps and a slightly squared-off, curved neckline. It has a nipped-in waist and pencil skirt fit, with a pleat at the back of the skirt in the bottom hem for ease of movement. The dress is unlined. It fastens under the left arm with a hidden zip.

These garments are in very good to excellent vintage condition, there is the faintest of under arm halos on the dress which are not seen when worn. The fabric retains all of its lustre and vibrancy. Very well made but without labels, the fabric has no stretch. A best fit for a size UK 8-10, US 4-6.
