1970s Beach Party Navy Velour Sailor Two-Piece Bikini Set

This rare two-piece bikini was designed by Beach Party in the early 1970s. Made from navy velour, it combines a bralet-style top with coordinating hot-pant bottoms and a playful nautical theme.

The top is detailed with a contrasting red velour stripe and fastens at the back with two navy plastic buttons. The bottoms are finished with a white braided rope at the waist, threaded through a large red velour anchor appliqué. Both pieces are lined in tonal blue cotton, while the bottoms also contain a separate pair of blue cotton briefs with elasticated leg openings for additional coverage.

The surviving ILGWU union label dates from the 1964–73 period making it an unusually complete survivor and even more so given it is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. There are no surviving size or composition labels and Circa recommends it for approximately a UK 6-8 or US 2-4 as the bust is quite small.
