1970s Guy Laroche Silk Naturalist Print Tunic Dress
Description
Made in France, this romantic, layering dress was designed in the 1970s or early 1980s by French fashion designer Guy Laroche. It is tailored from smooth silk with a vibrant floral pattern in turquoise, coffee, cobalt and coral. It has a rounded neckline and is sleeveless, with two delicate mother-of-pearl buttons decorating the left shoulder. The dress is cut to an empire-silhouette, a shape that was popular during the 1970s era. Never one to shy away from a flamboyant detail, Laroche has adorned the front and back of the dress with a top layer of coordinating fabric with a pleated finish. The dress is unlined. The original label reads “Guy Laroche Diffusion - Paris”.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws to the silk. The size label states that this is a French 42 but this is better suited to a UK 10-12 or US 6-8. The fabric has no stretch.
