1970s Shubette Teal Angel-Sleeve Knitted Jersey Dress
Description
This dress was designed in the late 1970s by British label Shubette. Founded in London in 1913 by Jack Offenbach, the brand was beloved in the 1960s and 1970s for its playful party dresses. Tailored from a knitted jersey fabric dyed a vibrant teal hue with a high-shine, almost metallic finish. The silhouette is very Studio 54, a relaxed, floaty top with split sleeves that part at the top of the arms, a nipped in waist and a swirling A-line skirt. The top is lined with the same fabric and the skirt is unlined and slightly sheer. It fastens at the back with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp. There is a fabric rope belt which attaches through belt loops at either side of the waist.
In excellent vintage condition with no flaws. It is composed of 100% Polyester. Labelled a size UK 16, but vintage sizes run small so please check our below measurements. The fabric has a bit of stretch and this is suitable for up to a UK 10-12 or US 6 with a smaller waist.
