1980s Chanel Gold and Pearl Floral Camelia Earrings
Description
These gold-plated camelia flower earrings created by Chanel in the early 1980s are in fabulous condition. The camelia is the iconic emblem of Chanel, representing purity, longevity, and timeless femininity and first adopted by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel around 1913 for a belt design.
The large pearl centrepiece measures 1.5 cm and is surrounded by six petals engraved from the gold-plated base metal setting. The brand name and double-C logo can be found on a plaque on the reverse of each piece behind the clip-on clasp. These earrings are in excellent vintage condition with only the smallest bit of wear to the gold-plating to the rear - not noticeable when worn. Chanel jewellery from this period was at least 22ct gold plated and these are beautifully made.
