2000 Dolce & Gabbana Runway Beaded Tassel Mini Skirt

This incredible, high-octane skirt walked the runway as part of Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2000 show. Another runway version was worn by Sarah Jessica Parker when she presented the MTV Movie Awards in 2000 and this model was worn by Christina Aguilera for InStyle magazine.

Cut to an extra mini length from black silk satin, it is smothered with horizontal rows of cylindrical sequins in alternating bands of gold, iridescent burgundy, black, white and silver. The waistband is wide and covered in glistening rhinestones. Decadent tassels hang from the bottom of the skirt. Weighty and threaded with lustrous circular beads, from a distance they form gold and green floral shapes set against a black background. The skirt is lined with black silk satin and the inside of the waistband is lined in grosgrain ribbon. It fastens on the left hip with a tonal black zip and hook-and-eye clasp.

This skirt was produced in exceptionally low numbers by Dolce and Gabbana and is considered the standout piece from this millennium collection. In excellent archival vintage condition with no flaws to the beadwork or silk. Labelled 100% Silk and an Italian 40, UK 8 or US 4, but brand sizes vary so please check our measurements closely below. The fabric has no stretch.
