2003 Stella McCartney Brown Silk Satin Long-Sleeve Gown with Cut-Outs
Description
This elegant Stella McCartney gown is from 2003 and echoes some of the silhouettes seen on the Fall 2004 runway. Unworn, it still has the Bergdorf Goodman retail tags attached. A black version was worn by the lead signer of Texas, Sharleen Spiteri, to a dinner she attended with the designer in London in January 2006.
Tailored from silk satin in a rich chocolate brown, it is cut to a slinky body-skimming silhouette reminiscent of 1930s silhouettes. The top of the dress has long sleeves and features peekaboo cut-outs at the decolletage and across the top of the back. The skirt is flared, detailed with multiple slits and panelled with tonal sheer silk chiffon. The dress fastens under the left arm with a hidden tonal zip. Lined in chocolate brown silk-satin at the top.
This beautifully made dress is in excellent unworn vintage condition with no flaws of any note. The labels states 97% Silk, 3% Elastane and a size Italian 40, UK 8 or US 4. Vintage sizes vary hugely so it is best to check our measurements below as the fabric has no stretch. The design would also suit a size smaller.
