2007 Gucci Runway Art Deco Print Dress with Crystal Appliqué
Description
This documented Gucci dress from Frida Giannini walked the runway as part of the Fall 2007 show (look 20/47). A stand out piece in the runway show, it was also featured in the ad campaigns for the collection. The dress is tailored from black silk printed with arty deco motifs in shades of grey set against vibrant red, cornflower blue and burgundy. It is cut to a twisted, body-sweeping silhouette which falls to a mini-length with a short flippy skirt. The top has short sleeves and a rounded neckline that gives way at the back to a skin-flashing low-back that wraps around the waist and ties at the side with three large buckles. These buckles are the stand-out detailing on this piece - the fabric loops through two high-shine gold-tone metal rings, crowned on each side with a large art deco brooch composed of tiny circular rhinestones, silver-tone metallic chains and bronze metallic thread, alongside a large circular faux precious stone in vibrant tangerine orange. The skirt is lined with a black stretch-silk mix. It fastens under the right arm with a hidden tonal zip and snap closures.
In great vintage condition with no issues and made from 100% Silk; the lining is 74% Acetate, 26% Silk. It is labelled as Italian size 38, UK 6 or US 2; please check our measurements below as the fabric has no stretch.
