1920s or 1930s Black & Gold Floral Lace French Lame Dress

This unique late 1920s early 1930s slip dress simply exudes glamour. The black and gold lace lame overlay is complemented beautifully by a delicate black silk slip that has a barely there feel against the skin. The slip has a simple shift cut that flares out gradually at the hip, ribbon width shoulder straps, and horizontal neckline tracing the line of the breast. The lace follows the same simple shift line, fanning out generously below the knee into an ornate fishtail that dramatically sweeps the floor. A particularly special feature of the piece is the exquisite shoulder detail. Individual lace segments decorate the top of the sleeve in a delicate leaf design, accentuating the delightfully feminine feel of the gown. This ensemble is in excellent antique vintage condition, with no noticeable flaws, and would suit a variety of sizes up to US size 8 - 10, UK size 12 - 14. Unlabelled but lame of this quality was made in France.
