Description

This 1920s to early 1930s long jacket is crafted from the most beautiful lame fabric with deeply considered attention to detail in its construction. It is crafted from a lightweight silk lame patterned with painterly rainbow flowers - we love the deeper toned art deco hues and vibrant blue, pink and tangerine details. The fabric is woven all-over with metallic gold lamé thread which forms hazy, sheer florals and vines. Tailored to a loose fit, almost like a duster coat, it has a panelled construction throughout. The notched collar is wide and relaxed, as are the sleeves. It fastens with a wrap-over front secured with a single button. The button is as decadent as the fabric; it is black and carved with geometric patterns and detailed with gold metallic paint. The jacket is lined with matte butter-yellow shot silk.

The jacket is in outstanding vintage condition with no issues and the lame is just fabulous; almost imperceptible tarnishing noted and no thinning. The yellow silk lining is a considered and thoughtful replacement and hence no labels remain in the jacket. This would have been one of the finest garments of its type in the day and guaranteed to turn heads on arrival. We believe it would best fit a size UK 10 (US 6) upwards, depending on the desired fit.
