1950s Christian Dior Mitchel Maer Purple Wreath Brooch

1950s Christian Dior by Mitchel Maer wreath brooch featuring gradients of amethyst and rhodolite marquis and oval rhinestones and set in rhodium-plating. The brooch has a stacked 3 dimensional design. In truly excellent vintage condition and all stones are prong set. The brooch is marked to the reverse with the Christian Dior oval cartouche.

We've sold this design a number of times over the years including Kramer marked pieces who were licensed to sell Christian Dior costume jewellery in the US. Mitchel Maer created many exquisite pieces for the London branch of Christian Dior for a short time between 1952 and 1956. Early Dior examples were approved by Monsieur Dior himself and are some of the most sought-after vintage costume jewellery in the world.
