Description

This enchanting silk gown was designed by Aurora Ruffolo during the 1970s and showcases the best of the era's penchant for romantic design. The dress retailed in Stanley Korshak, one of the finest independent luxury department stores in the US and was founded Chicago in 1909. Composed of two parts which are attached together; a shift dress with full skirt and a long-sleeve sheer top that sits above the dress. The fabric is stunning; rich black silk chiffon detailed with gold lurex polka-dots that catch the light as the wearer walks. The full-skirt showcases a print of blown-up red roses and further roses are littered across the body and sleeves of the top. The sleeves are unlined and sheer, and are tailored to a whimsical bell-sleeve shape with gathered cuffs. It fastens at the back of the neck with a hidden tonal zip.

This dress is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note and looks barely worn. There are no composition or size labels present so please check our measurements below. The fabric has no stretch and we estimate a good fit for up to a UK 10 or US 6.
