1970s Christian Dior Gold Intertwined Circles Brooch
Description
This sculptural 1970s brooch was designed by Christian Dior and made by the very famous Henkel and Grosse factory in Germany. Since 1955 they have had a long association with the House of Dior. In 2005, the Grossé family withdrew from the business, and the firm became part of the Dior group.
The brooch is designed to look like two interlocking circles but in fact the larger circle never fully closes. It is crafted from gold-toned metal with a high-shine, polished finish. It features a ridged, teardrop-shaped outer rim in gold-toned metal. The back features a long pin which is secured with a C-clasp. There is a stamp on the rear of the brooch that reads “Chr. Dior” and the copyright symbol, alongside another stamp which reads “Germany”.
This elegant brooch has seen little use in its lifetime and is in very good vintage condition, with a few very minor scratches - not obvious at all when worn. We also have this brooch in silver which was bought from the same collection.
