2008 Blumarine Runway Leopard Chiffon Maxi-Dress with Crystal Waistband
Description
Blumarine designed this high-octane dress as part of the brand’s Fall 2008 collection (Look 47/54). This hyper-feminine, romantic fashion brand was founded in 1977 by husband-and-wife duo, Anna Molinari and Gianpaolo Tarabini. The vivid blue of the sea in Capri inspired the name Blumarine. This elegant gown was tailored in Italy from a bold leopard-print silk chiffon, which falls in multiple layers and forms a multi-layered handkerchief hem that swrls around the ankles. The fabric crosses over at the bust, double-layered to protect modesty, and forms a V-shape neckline. The stunning belted waistband cinches the free-flowing chiffon and is adorned with chunky rhinestones - a decadent detail typical of the glamorous brand. This dress is unlined. It fastens at under the left arm with a hidden tonal zip.
This spotlight-stealing piece is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws. It is made from 100% Silk. Tagged an Italian size 42, this runs much smaller and is better suited to a UK 8 or US 4. Please double-check our measurements below as the fabric has no stretch.
