2014 Balenciaga Black Wool Tuxedo Waistcoat Jacket
Description
This chic black waistcoat was designed by Balenciaga in 2014 when Alexander Wang was Creative Director. Wang brought an edgy aesthetic to the brand, infusing traditional elegance with a modern urban twist and his tenure saw the introduction of new designs and collaborations expanding Balenciaga’s reach to a younger demographic.
Tailored from smooth black wool, it takes its lead from a tuxedo jacket bringing that recognisable Balenciaga spherical tailoring to a contemporary piece with the curved hems and cocooning feel to the fit. Designed to look like a wrap-around jacket, the front right side of the waistcoat curves down and attaches to the bottom hem of the right side. There is a coordinating black wool belt which is secured with two large fabric-covered buttons and attaches through belt loops at the side. The top of the collar closes with a tonal black snap closure. It has a single flap pocket. Made in Italy, it is fully lined with a black silk-mix satin. It closes under the arm with a black tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp.
In excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. The size label states that this is a French size 34, UK 6, but sizes vary between brands so please check our measurements below. It is 100% Wool and the lining is 72% Acetate, 28% Silk. The fabric has no stretch.
