Y2K Christian Dior belle epoque style necklace from when John Galliano was at the creative helm of the House. It is reminiscent of jewellery from the late 19th century with the romantic ribbon design, enamel work and teardrop pearls. The era is brought up to date with a modern take on materials such as the blackened silver. The bow design features rich tones of plum, burgundy, vermillion and white with five droplet pearls and crystals accents spaced at intervals. A fluid necklace and Princess length so designed to sit below the collar bone in a festoon style. Fastening to the rear with a hook, the necklace can be adjusted with a small row of spacers and is marked with the initials CD in a discrete drop down charm.
From the 2001 collection, Dior jewellery from the Galliano era is increasingly collected and this is a very wearable and timeless design. In superb vintage condition, no nicks in the enamel or pearls and no replacement diamantes.
