Description

This playful daytime dress was designed by occasion wear designer Joan Leslie in the 1980s. It offers a highly wearable take on the 1940s novelty print. Set against a cream background, the dress is printed with hand-drawn designs showing dressing table accoutrements, elegant female silhouettes and bold hat and shoe designs, all rendered in vibrant jewel tones. The dress is tailored to a shirt-waister silhouette with a nipped-in waist. It has short sleeves with a pretty, fluttering cut. The front is secured with chunky buttons in white plastic detailed with royal blue stripes. The waist features a peplum ruffle which can be tied at the front to secure the waist further and alter the silhouette. The top of the dress is lined with cream satin. The skirt is unlined.

The dress is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. It is labelled a US 10 but runs smaller and would suit modern sizes UK 10-12 to US 6-8. Please check the below measurements carefully as the fabric has no stretch. Composed of 100% Rayon with a lining of 100% Acetate.
