1970s Marisa Martin Pink and White Lace Ruffle Blouse
Description
This elaborate top was designed in the 1970s by London boutique Marisa Martin. The brand was known for high-end garments made using a patchwork of fabrics and embellishments. Crafted in a bohemian luxe peasant style, it has an elasticated neckline which can be worn rounded or stretched to an off-shoulder fit. The neckline is trimmed with lace and net ruffles in white. It has large frothy bell-sleeves crafted from sheer white cotton and detailed with strips of white lace and ribbon. The cuffs are gathered and elasticated, detailed with peach satin over the seam. The cuffs themselves are made from ruffled white lace. The body of this decadent top is crafted from gauzy white cotton and adorned with panels of white lace, white ribbon, baby blue ribbon and white crochet. It has an elasticated waistband and a ruffled peplum waist layered with lace. The top is lined in bright candy-pink cotton which can be seen through the sheer cotton top layer, rendering it pale pink.
