1980s Christian Aujard Floral Cotton Country Print Skirt

This early 1980s Christian Aujard skirt is constructed from a thick, high quality cotton fabric in a classic wrap over style silhouette. It is pleated on either side of the hip which creates a lovely flowing effect all the way down to the hem. Due to the wrap over style of the waistband, with a loophole to thread the sash tie through, the sizing is adjustable. The fabric of the skirt is made up of a bold and striking floral pattern of roses and peony style flowers in pinks, creams, blues and earth tones, against a smoky black background. Made in France, it is in fabulous vintage condition with no faults and would best suit a range of sizes between 6-12 UK, or 2-8 US.

Christian Aujard was a sophisticated ready to wear fashion brand launched in Paris in 1968 by husband and wife team, Christian and Michele, who both designed under the brand name. The label came to the attention of international clientele for its use of luxury fabrics and a muted colour palette to coordinate its classically tailored separates.
