Yvonne of Cherbourg 1930s Black Hand Painted Silk Cropped Jacket
Description
This 1930s Yvonne of Cherbourg hand painted silk jacket is petite and feminine, with deeply considered attention to detail in its construction. The shoulders are dainty, with a subtle puff feature atop of mid length sleeves that taper from just below the elbow. The sharp angles of the regency neckline juxtapose the curve either side of the bodice to the waistline. The three front facing buttons are covered in black silk to match the jacket, and each of the buttonholes are finished with piped silk seams. The waist flatters irrespective of whether worn open or closed. The most striking feature of this piece however, is the beautiful hand painted surface design, a gold leaf motif punctuated with glossy floral decoration in champagne, scarlet, ochre and deep blue. The jacket is in wonderful condition, with no notable flaws bar a tiny part of the fabric on the left sleeve is a little distressed. Would best suit US size 0, UK size 4-6. as there is no give and the sleeves are slender.
