Description
This documented top is Look 39 from Gianni Versace's 1993 spring ready-to-wear collection and was modelled by Helena Christensen on the runway. The design showcases Versace's fearless approach to fashion with a striking combination of monochrome and neon colors. This piece features a low, scoop neckline with a duel layer of ruffle trim in polka dot and print. The top is adorned with an array of vivid florals and an eye-catching abstract foliage design interspersed with polka dots. The top is neatly accented in neon orange stitched trim to provide structure to the short gathered sleeves and to emphasizes the wearer's décolletage. It is finished with a neat bow to the front and fastens with an invisible side zip to the left hand side.

This was a standout piece from the collection and featured in several editorials, most notably the front cover of Elle magazine where the whole ensemble was modelled by Linda Evangelista. Garments designed during Gianni's lifetime are becoming increasingly collectable and the blouse is in superb vintage condition, looks barely worn and with no faults or marks. The size label has been cut out but the measurements suggest around a UK 10-12 or US 6-8. 100% silk, unlined.
