1970s Quad Black Quilted Velvet Cape with Frogging

This Quad theatrical black velvet maxi-cape was made in the late 1960s, early 1970s when London's 'swinging 60s' scene was the fashion capital of the world. With an ankle grazing construction, or floor length if you are under 5'4", the thick black cotton velvet is cut to a full, cocooning shape that encircles the body and is open at the front. It has a small velvet collar at the neck and, below this, it closes with an elaborate frog fastening. It has two small armholes at the front. Beautifully made, the cape is lined with quilted black satin. The label reads “QUAD” in stylised black font on white cloth.

This cape is in excellent vintage condition and looks barely worn with no issues. It has no size or composition label so please check the below measurements as the fabric has no stretch. It will fit all sizes up to a size 12 or US 8 and will fall more open on bigger sizes.
