Description

This early 1970s skirt suit is by Sixth Sense, a European brand which sold good quality designer inspired pieces on the Continental high street. It is crafted from thick wool and has a woolmark label in a rich aubergine purple hue. The ensemble is composed of a short, boxy collared jacket with a silver-toned zip-up front. It has a panelled construction and is detailed with epaulettes and sleeve loops, secured with large tonal buttons - which add a utilitarian feel. The skirt has a high-waist cut and falls in an A-line shape to the calf. It too has a panelled construction. It fastens at the rear with a hidden tonal purple zip and hook-and-eye clasp. Both the jacket and skirt are impeccably crafted and are lined with aubergine purple satin.

We are astounded at the quality of this mod design skirt-suit and when laid next to fine designer examples in Circa's collection such as Courreges, Chloe and Cardin from the same period, its hard to tell them apart and we mean it. Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition with no issues; we did need to replace the jacket zip with a well-matched modern replacement. It is labelled an EU size 38 but this runs small so please check the below measurements. The fabric has no stretch and this will be a good fit for sizes UK 6 and 8 or US 2 and 4.
