Description

This elegant jacket was designed by John Galliano and a white version walked the runway as part of Christian Dior’s decadent Spring 1998 ready-to-wear presentation titled "In a Boudoir Mood". It was Galliano's second ready-to-wear collection and held at the Palais Garnier Opera House. The show was a decadent spectacle and drew inspiration from early 20th-century salons.

Tailored from pure textured wool, it is a beautiful seafoam green colour. This colour is echoed in the pale blue-green of the cameo which sits at the centre of the silver-toned metal button that secures the front. The jacket is tailored to an elongated cut which curves around the body and recalls traditional menswear morning suit styles. It has two flap pockets which are curved to petal-like shapes to echo the cut of the jacket. Lined throughout with seafoam blue silk for a comfortable, luxurious wear.

In excellent archival vintage condition with no issues. Labelled a size UK 8, US 4. It is 100% Wool with a lining of 100% Silk. Our models measurements are Bust: 33" (84cm), Waist 26" (66cm), Hips: 34" (86cm) and 5' 7" (170cm) and she wears a UK 6 or US 2. This was a good fit as Galliano Dior pieces are notoriously small.
