Light weight and slub tectured fabric: Yonezawa tsumugi woven silk.

Tsumugi silk is woven using the yawn made from the waste silk fibre and the uneven thicnkness of the yawn produced the unique texture on Tsumugi fabric.

Traditionally a peasant cloth, handmade Tsumugi is very labour-intensive to produce, and has become expensive over time, valued as a luxury folk-craft good.

Yonezawa, a city in Yamagata prefecture, is one of the most famous place for Tsumugi fabric.

Condition:
Good vintage condition. There are some small stains at the middle back next to the right sleeve and the mild sign all over the kimono though, we consider that it is  still very wearable preloved condition. We aim to describe the kimono as accurate as possible. Extra images will be available on request.

kimonos are almost rectangle shape. it will fit many sizes. Please check the measurements. The torso is UK 10 size body.
