2012 Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga Pink Leather Motorcycle Jacket
Description
This leather motorcycle jacket was designed by Balenciaga in 2012 whilst Nicolas Ghesquière was creative director of the French fashion House. During his tenure, the fabled French brand was known for its leather-wear and these motorcycle jackets were hugely sought after by celebrities and fashion editors alike. This design has been photographed on Cara Delevingne, Miranda Kerr, Miley Cyrus, Kirsten Stewart and Jennifer Aniston, among others.
The jacket is tailored from butter-soft leather in a vibrant candy-pink hue. It is cut to a boxy, classic motorcycle fit, detailed with quilting across the shoulders and on the elbow patches. Chunky silver hardware finishes the multiple pockets and secures the front, alongside pink-leather topped snap closures, allowing the collar to be worn open or fastened to the top. The sides of the jacket are laced with pink leather through silver-tone eyelets. This jacket is fully lined with black satin, for a more comfortable breathable wear. The label inside the neck reads “BALENCIAGA.LEATHER”.
This piece is in excellent condition with no flaws of any note and has only seen very light wear. The outer fabric is 100% Lambs Leather and the lining is 100% Rayon. It is labelled a French size 40, which equates to a UK 12 or US 8. This is a little on the small side in our estimation and may suit sizes UK 10 or US 6 better. The fabric has no stretch.
