Description

A fabulous and truly unique c.1975 vintage wedding dress, with no label but believed to be by Catherine Buckley, from her Fragile collection, in a patchwork of  textured Edwardian white lace made between 1905-1935.

In the late 1960s British Boutique designer Catherine Buckley salvaged a job lot of fabric samples from an abandoned textile factory and made a series of unique patchwork garments from these exquisite materials, which encapsulated the glamorous bohemian look and romanticism of the era.

This garment is a wonderful two piece wedding dress from around 1975, made up of a patchwork of jacquard and lace fabrics.

The top has an Edwardian-style high neck made of lace, and is fitted at the bodice, with long sleeves made of embroidered open weave fabric, and delicate looped buttons down the back.

The skirt is fitted at the waist and hips, with a bias cut Jacquard underskirt and diagonal patches forming the overskirt, flaring out to the ankle at the front and forming a small train at the back.  Looped buttons  at the back.
