Description
This is a really good 1920s cotton whitework slip dress. It is incredibly detailed and the execution of the eyelet work is exceptional. The dress may have been an underdress for a tea gown but was probably worn as nightwear and features this eyelet work bandeau that forms the bodice and then from the empire line, the dress portion is very flared with a wide flounce which echoes the bodice design.
There is also a further tier that incorporates a smaller version of the eyelet design and this has been threaded through with modern turquoise satin ribbon as the original silk ribbon was very damaged. We have also 'ribboned' the shoulder straps and the neckline. The dress fastens to the front with small, real pearlescent buttons behind a hidden button stand.

These dresses work fantastically for layering but this is such a pretty and extravagant version you may well want to wear it as outerwear. In absolutely beautiful antique condition; the white cotton very fresh looking with no issues of any note. Will fit up to around a UK 12.
