1940s Gemrich Gold Leather Wedge Sandals

A rare pair of true vintage 1940s strappy wedge sandals designed by Gemrich. Crafted from a rich gold metallic leather and lined with matte beige leather, these sandals feature a caged front detailed with gold leather knots and a gold leather toe strap, also detailed with a knot. They are secured with an ankle strap and adjustable buckle. The buckle is crafted from a silver-toned metal with pretty carved detailing. The wedge heel measures just over 2”. The heels feature curved gold-leather panels which add a decadent, Hollywood regency feel.

These highly wearable shoes are labelled with the words “Gemrich - Colombo & Kandy” in white font on a red label. They are in very good to excellent vintage condition with only very minor wear noted in keeping with their grand old age. There is virtually no loss to the gold leather and they look like they have never been worn outside. These are around a UK size 4 to 4.5, EU 37 to 37.5 or US 6 to 6.5.
