Description

This autumnal toned dress was designed in the late 1940s by L’Aignon, an American heritage company founded in 1898. They traded for over 75 years and made good quality fashions for the ready to wear market. The dress is tailored from a high quality rayon patterned with a novelty heraldic print in forest green, beige, mustard and burgundy. It has a square neckline and fastens along the front with decadent buttons in emerald green, encircled with gold-toned metal in a shirtwaister style. The sleeves are long and end with a slight flared cuff. The calf-length skirt falls with box pleating from beneath a dropped waistband. The dress is unlined.

In excellent vintage condition, particularly for a piece of circa 80 years of age. She is without fault and very wearable. Pay no attention to the size 14 label as vintage sizes vary hugely from modern garments and please double-check our measurements below. We believe that this would best fit up to a size UK 10, US 6.
