1940s Sally Slade Wool and Beaded Soutache Work Jacket
Description
This late 1940s Sally Slade black blazer jacket has the most incredible beaded detail on the lapels and pockets. It is cut in a classic New Look 'bar' style shape, with rounded front hem and long lapels. It has original padding in each shoulder to create structure, and turned up cuffs at the end of each sleeve. The beadwork on the front lapels is made up of a scrollwork and floral soutache pattern, with individual drop beads sewn into the centre of each flower. The jacket fastens at the front with a singular button closure, and has sloped front pockets which create a more feminine fitted silhouette. It is lined in a soft black silky material, and most likely was inspired by the post second world war era tailoring of luxury fashion houses like Dior. It is in wonderful vintage condition, with no flaws or marks to note, and would be best for anywhere between a UK 8-12, or US 4-8, depending on desired fit.
