1950s Mottled Grey Wool Dress with Pleated Drop Waist Skirt
Description
This very early 1950s dress is by an unknown designer but very much has the Dior New Look about it. Tailored from a lightweight wool with a mottled grey finish, it has three-quarter length sleeves and an elegant V-neckline, detailed with two overlapping ties that are secured in place with a large plastic button. With a drop-waist silhouette the skirt falls from below and is box pleated, kicking out around the wearer as they walk. The original, presumably size label, is no longer legible. The dress is unlined but well manufactured.
In excellent vintage condition with no flaws; the wool is fresh looking, clean and ready to wear. Please check our measurements below as the fabric has no stretch. We estimate a good fit for around a UK 8-10 or US 4-6 with a slim waist and hip.
