1950s Nautical Striped Cotton Dress with Dropped Waist
Description
This original 1950s dress is cut from lightweight cotton woven with blue and white stripes, interspersed with narrow bands featuring charming ship's wheel motifs that give the dress its distinctive nautical character.
The dress has a classic boat neckline and softly gathered puff sleeves. A wide, inverted blue waistband sits low on the waist, before giving way to a full, breezy skirt with plenty of movement. It fastens at the back with its original concealed white zip and a row of oversized translucent buttons. The dress is unlined.
The dress is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. All original labels have been lost over time but this is a well manufactured piece, most likely from the USA.
