1950s Pearlescent Trapeze Clear Lucite Top Handle Bag
Description
This eye catching clear and pearlescent lucite bag was made in the 1950s. A trapeze design is one of the more desirable shapes for collectors and although unlabelled, the quality suggests it was manufactured by one of the greats - Charles S Khan, Florida Handbags or Patricia of Miami. The pearlescent lucite forms the sides, lid and flap of the bag, whilst the transparent lucite sides are carved and textured with quilted-style stripes. The bag is finished with a solid top handle and it is crafted from sheer lucite. There are four small, moulded lucite balls for the feet rests.
Overall in fair, restored condition for its age and rarity; very slight surface scratches present and light rubbing to the chrome hardware. The bag has unfortunately cracked along the sides although cleanly. It has been expertly repaired but this is reflected in the price and can be seen if looking at the bag intently. The pearlescent lucite top and clear sides are in excellent condition.
