1960s California Olive Green Chiffon Beaded Dress with Train
Description
1960s olive green beaded dress with train by high-end British label, California. The dress is a manmade georgette fabric, probably viscose, with a wide boat neckline that has been embellished with larger crystal cut beads and diamantes interspersed in a swirling design. The dress is a Grecian-style column dress and has no seaming or waistline. It is gently contoured, falling between ankle and mid-calf length.
The dress features a beautiful, full-length, gathered train at the back which is separate to the dress and wafts independently. It is cut much lower at the back than the front and has an ethereal appearance. It fastens with the original zip and some hook and eyes along the beaded band.
Condition is very good for a dress of this style and age. On close inspection, we note a very small watermark which is entirely lost in the folds on the front of the dress and there are a few tiny pin head holes in the fabric - these are not noticeable when worn and can only been seen with the dress in hand. Will fit a range of sizes up to a UK 10-12 or US 6-8.
