Description

This elegant turban was designed by Christian Dior in the late 1960s. The epitome of chic, these hats were featured in the April 1968 edition of Vogue. Designed to look like a tangerine orange silk head scarf wrapped around the head, it is printed with signature pink and yellow-orange florals and navy and green geometric forms. Imitating a classic turban style, it is knotted at the front and has two scarf corners hanging from the rear - one printed with a white box containing the brand name “Christian Dior”. Lined inside the rim with orange grosgrain ribbon and elastic, it has a flexible fit.

Turbans were featured heavily in the 1968 Spring/Summer hat collection and the 1969 fur collection and we have some original footage of the former collection curtesy of British Pathe.

The turban is in excellent condition with no flaws of any note. The original label reads "Christian Dior Licence Chapeaux". It has no composition or size label, due to its age, so please double-check the measurements below.
