1970s Avagoff Italian Knit Brown and Cream Polo-Shirt Dress
Description
This early 1970s silk knitted dress is a great example of high-end manufactured Italian knitwear, and was made by Avagoff. A laid-back t-shirt silhouette, it is woven to a tonal checkerboard pattern from cream and cappuccino hues. It has short, slightly puffed sleeves and a rounded neckline. The neckline has a trompe l’oeil polo collar where the collar has been woven in a contrasting pale brown knit but actually sits flat. The button placket is also in brown knit and is secured with four large flower-shaped buttons in cream plastic. The dress is further detailed with brown along the sides and waistband, where two faux welt pockets shirt. The skirt falls to knee length. This dress is lined with a sheer chiffon slip and has shoulder pads.
In truly excellent vintage condition with no flaws to the weave or the colour. It has no size labels so please check our measurements closely. The fabric has some stretch so allow 2 cm or 1 in of flexibility. We believe it would best fit up to a size UK 10, US 6.
