Description
This is a really well made 1970s navy embroidered maxi dress by Brenner Couture. It's a smart shirt-waister style with a crossover V neck with two button fastenings and a pointed collar. The sleeves are gathered slightly at the cuff and are also finished off with two buttons on each side. The dress is gathered at the waist and flows down into a beautiful maxi skirt, with lots of fabric to create movement. It features red, Scandinavian style embroidery throughout, with latticework and floral designs to the hem, a diamond print all over, and a contrasting red lattice belt which fastens with three hook and eyes. The dress, though unlined, is made using a high quality soft navy polyester blend, making it incredibly comfortable to wear. It would make a fabulous hostess dress on more formal occasions and is versatile enough to be paired with boots and a furry coat for a truly 70s winter look.

The dress is in excellent vintage condition, with no faults or stains to note. Eleanor Brenner, who founded Brenner couture in the late 1950s, specialised in designs for women of all sizes, creating everything from casual knitwear to evening gowns. This particular dress would fit up to a size 14 UK or US 10.
