This D-Orlan shell like brooch is a truly eye-catching piece and is circa 1970s. Meticulously crafted from 22ct gold plated metal with engraved sections trailing from the brooch. A faux pearl sits atop, surrounded by a pedestal detailed with zig-zagging gold detailing. The brooch is littered with glittering rhinestones. At the rear, there is a long clasp which is secured with a C-clasp. It is engraved with the word “D’ORLAN” and the copyright symbol. In excellent vintage condition with no wear to the gold on the rear.

D’Orlan Jewellers was founded by Maurice Bradden in 1957 in Toronto, Canada. In 1979 the company acquired the renowned costumer jewellery brand Marcel Boucher after a long association with the designer and Boucher's death. D’Orlan reissued Boucher designs using the original molds and high quality components. They company also had a successful partnership with Nina Ricci in the 1980s but by 2006 had ceased to trade.
