Description

A really great example, this viscose jersey dress is from iconic British designer Jean Muir and was designed during her 1970s heyday. It features a generously cut loose body and full-flowing skirt that falls to the floor. The bust is gathered from folds of fabric and the loose silhouette is cinched with a wide waistband. The fabric is stunning, a bold lipstick red jersey with a tonal swirling moiré pattern that hasn’t lost its vibrancy in half a century. The long-sleeves have a theatrical dramatic bell-cut with gathered cuffs. The dress is unlined. The back has a pretty keyhole cut-out that fastens at the top and the bottom of the back with a row of three pearlescent buttons.

This dress is in truly excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. There is no composition label. Labelled a UK 12 but vintage sizes vary hugely so please check our measurements below. The fabric has some stretch so please allow a small degree of flexibility. We believe this dress will best fit a size UK 8-10, US 4-6.
